For Washington Township BOE
We represent ALL of Washington Township and think children should be first in all BOE decision making.
We represent ALL of Washington Township and think children should be first in all BOE decision making.
We are a diverse group of parents and tax payers who have had enough of watching time and money be wasted while our children and unions wait for contracts, leadership, and academic progress. We do not agree with banning books, political rants, exclusive decision making, and financial waste.

"I am currently a student again myself, as well as a teacher of adults, and I believe education should be a lifelong effort that allows people to grow and expand their career." Tomczak is also an American Heart Association First Aid instructor, an Army Core of Engineers Fall Protection Certified Train the Teacher Instructor, and a Mobile Elevated Work Platform Instructor.

Dan Woodington is a Sheet Metal Worker for Local 19 and is very involved in volunteer work through his union. Woodington and his wife, Rochelle, are raising three children who span the school system in Washington Township. They have teens at WTHS and OVMS and a four-year-old (Hunter, the campaign’s unofficial “mascot”:) who attends our new Pre-K program at Grenloch. Like his running mates, Woodington moved his family to Washington Township six years ago for the school district. “Union work is a great way to raise a family. Not only am I able to provide for my family, but we give back to the community in many ways. Each Thanksgiving Local 19 participates in a turkey giveaway, we also help out with a homeless shelter called Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission,” states Woodington. “It’s definitely a community of union brothers and sisters.” In addition to his busy family life, Woodington is an assistant coach for Hunter’s tee-ball team and is finishing a degree in construction management. “I want my kids to attend college, if that is what they choose, but I am also happy to share how joining the building trades has been of value to my family and can really help build the middle class and allow others to reach their goals in life. Students, now more than ever, need options for their futures.”

Sean Lindsay is an OSHA certified electrician and IBEW Local 351 Class A journeyman and 17-year resident of Washington Township. He is running for Board of Education to provide more opportunities for students to learn about careers outside of the traditional college track and to keep an eye on taxes. “I do not have children in the school district, but when over 50% of your tax money is allocated to the schools, we need to ensure we are offering the best educational experience for children in the most financially-efficient way possible,” states Lindsay. Sean also has worked his way from being an apprentice electrician to a Class A wireman. “Many students do not know how to get involved in the building trades as an apprentice. It’s actually quite simple to apply to become a union member, and we can offer a direct path to this type of career for more students, as well as guidance as to how to navigate the competitive process of obtaining an apprenticeship” states Lindsay. “I think I can bring a lot to the table in terms of career planning.”
